Windsurfing

Los Canos - top spot when it's blowing over a bf.6. Best with a westerly 'Levante'. Fast crosshore with waves. Good beach access but beware of sharp rocks at low tide. Not recommended sailing beyond Trafalgar point.

Los Canos Bay - perfect launching but low wind affects take off until you are 100m offshore. Best views inland as you are sailing. Only decent spot for learners.

Trafalgar beach - good sailing when a northerly blows. Watch out for headland currents and advise against sailing the other side of the isthmus.

El Palmar beach - often fast flat water sailing in Levante as it blows cross-off. Best beach launch and no rocks. Take care with wind direction.

Tarifa - The windsurfers' mecca - Tarifa is now ranked as one of the three locations in the world for windsurfing where the eastern Lavante and the western Poniente make windsurfing an all year round sport. Tarifa also offers windsurfing schools and shops selling windsurfing equipment and clothes.
